In the summer of 1968 students from Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM) and other schools staged a protest in the Zócalo plaza. It was one of the largest protests against the government in Mexico’s history.

I supported this movement of ’68. It does not cause me discomfort to say that I was in favor of the students, and not the government….Believe me I never was interested in politics, always in art. Not politics.
