Kids our age, 2006, ink and acrylic on Duralar, 40" x 19"
When I was three, my parents moved to the suburbs and made friends with other couples who had kids three years apart. We were supposed to make friends with the kid our age. In the top drawing, I'm the central orange hub, my sister Susan is red and my brother David is purple.
When I went to map the network of families, I had a hard time remembering how it was in the 1970's, because after that a lot of the parents got divorced and remarried and formed new families that had kids who were older or younger than us. The bottom drawing is "Kids our age corrected."
